Lila wanted to go to school. All summer long, Martina told her how exciting it would be, how much she would learn, and how much fun she would have. But schools wouldn’t admit monsters like Lila. Nevertheless, child and monster have an ace up their sleeve; Martina’s father, as the best attorney, presented Lila’s case to the school board. She isn’t a toy, nor a pet nor a danger to others; therefore there was no reason to ban her from going to school.
