Una voz para Jacinta

Author: Mónica Lavín

Illustrations: Jimena Estíbaliz

Synopsis

This book has two types of stories: those about siblings and those about only children. “A cloud at home”, “I don’t want to swim”, “Trip by train” and “Big sister” explore family problems: whether due to the invasion of a cloud, the arrival of a little sister, the almost impossible boarding a train and the transformation of an older sister from a girl to a teenager. “A voice for Jacinta”, “A little frigth”, “Fabián’s birthday” and “The magic store” portray individual conflicts: imaginary friends (and enemies), apocalyptic anxieties, socioeconomic gaps and little cultural clashes. These realistic stories give children a glimpse into issues that they may currently face and allow them to imagine their successful resolution.
